A Leisurely Drive from Castellammare del Golfo to Agrigento

We are in Agrigento, staying at the wonderful Terrazze di Montelusa B&B, which is run by Francesco and his kitties.  Today is Tuesday, we have been here since Friday afternoon, but our laptops and Francesco's wifi router have been in an epic battle, mostly with our laptops losing.  Last night our laptops won a skirmish, so at least for a while we are online.
The two hour drive from Castellammare to Agrigento was absolutely beautiful, we could have stopped at every turn for another photo.  We had to stop several times anyway, just to kill time, because we would have arrived too early to check-in at the B&B.  We stopped in Seccagrande, a Mediterranean seaside village that we thought would be bustling, but instead it was almost deserted. It was a beautiful day, sunny and almost 70 degrees, but I guess Italians wait until it reaches 100 degrees before going to the beach. We stopped for about 45 minutes, walked up and down the lungomare, enjoying the warm sun and sea breezes.  Here are a few photos...

Thank goodness the Neptun Bar was open for a
much needed bathroom stop!
Not long after we left Seccagrande we stopped again, in Siculiana, a small mountain town just off the main road, with a castle and stunning views of the sea.....

The castle...

The Cathedral

Great views of the sea...

An odd Mission style building that is the tourist info center...

We finally arrived at the B&B in Agrigento, and Francesco couldn't have been more helpful getting us settled.  Here are photos of the outside of the B&B.  It actually occupies the top two floors of the building.  There are amazing terraces on each end of the top floor...

A "monument" recently created in front ot the B&B,
not warmly received by the locals....
The B&B is on Via Bac Bac...a strange name that may
date back to Arabian times in Sicily...

Amazing view of the 2,500-year-old Temple of Concordia
from the terrace of the B&B!

Here is the main sitting room with piano, the hallway leading to our suite, and one of the small terraces...

Totally off the subject, but here are some photos of dogs and cats we've seen....

This fluffy kitty is one of the owners of the B&B
