Yesterday was a nice day, mostly sunny and around sixty degrees, so after a late and lazy breakfast we decided to take a walk around town. From our apartment in the heart of the old town, it is a very pleasant downhill stroll to the harbor. The compact harbor is exceptionally pretty, anchored at one end by an old castle, and lined with restaurants and bars. Fishing and pleasure boats bob in the calm water, and fisherman offer their daily catch early in the morning on stainless steel tables along the curved sea wall. These two photos taken from the "belvedere" above the village, one during the day and the other at night, give a stunning view of the harbor.

Every day here is an adventure and yesterday was no exception. As we were walking in the harbor, we spotted a vintage Fiat Abarth car. As the car slowly approached us, I gave it the palms down, slow down gesture so I could get a good photo. The driver stopped and we spoke with him for a few minutes using our bad Italian and his worse English. Turns out... no you can't make this s--t up... that he owns a house in Buffalo, and his son either works at, or goes to UB! We couldn't tell for sure. He was kind of holding up traffic, so he said "ciao", and off he went! Yes, every day is an adventure, and there seems to be a surprise around every corner.
Let's see what surprise and adventure awaits us today!
